A 26-year-old Myanmar man was found dead with 29 stab wounds to his neck, allegedly killed by a friend, in a room of a shop house near Jalan Besar Bukit Pelandok last Sunday.
Port Dickson District Police Chief, Superintendent Maslan Udin, said authorities received a call from a member of the public at around 9:45 a.m., reporting the victim lying face down and covered in blood.
The incident reportedly occurred while the victim and the 21-year-old suspect, who is also from Myanmar, were drinking alcohol in the room.
“The cause of the incident is believed to be linked to alcohol consumption. Both the victim and the suspect were co-workers at a restaurant,” Maslan said in a statement today. “The post-mortem conducted yesterday confirmed the death resulted from multiple stab wounds to the neck, totaling 29.”
The suspect, who was arrested on Monday, has been remanded for seven days until February 16. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, while the motive remains under investigation.
