A mysterious surveillance video posted by local resident Jessica Ortiz on Instagram around 1 a.m. on June 5 quickly went viral, amassing over a million views within hours.
The video is only 11 seconds long, but it captured attention with just one or two seconds showing a strange humanoid figure darting past Ortiz’s front porch. The figure appeared to suddenly emerge from the darkness and disappear just as quickly, fueling speculation of an extraterrestrial encounter.
“I honestly thought I was losing my mind,” Ortiz recalled. “I got a notification on my phone, unlocked it, and immediately saw the shadow. I didn’t want to judge alone, so I showed it to my son to see if I was mistaken. After watching it three times, he was shocked and said, ‘Mom, that’s an alien! Call the police!’ I laughed and said, ‘If I call the cops about this, people will think I’m crazy.’”
Ortiz’s home is equipped with three security cameras, but only the one at the front door captured the unusual figure. She called her neighbor in the backyard to check if anyone was outside at the time, but the neighbor said no one was around, which only added to Ortiz’s unease. “We were really scared. We had no idea what it was, and I was too afraid to go outside to check.”
Even more unsettling, at the end of the video, several loud, unexplained noises can be heard. Ortiz shared that her neighbor also heard similar sounds that night, describing them as coming from the roof, with scratching and crawling noises followed by a third loud bang, which frightened her enough to pray in her room.
The video has ignited heated discussion online, with opinions divided. Some say it’s just a child wrapped in a blanket, others think it resembles a person wearing a traditional Mexican mariachi hat, and some believe it might be a prank or misunderstanding. Ortiz insists, “The video is unedited, no special effects, I haven’t altered a single frame. Everything is real.” She firmly believes that the footage captured is not of an ordinary human figure.
“I believe God’s creativity far surpasses what we can imagine. We certainly cannot be the only life in the universe,” Ortiz said resolutely. The mysterious footage continues to circulate online, and to this day, the true identity of the shadowy figure remains unknown.
