A shocking discovery has rocked Sengkang after a man and his daughter were found dead in their HDB flat on Monday. The bodies were discovered around 1 PM in an eighth-floor unit at Block 324D, Sengkang East Way. The father was found in the bedroom, while his daughter was near the front door in the living room.
The grisly scene came to light after neighbors living directly below noticed a foul smell and reddish fluid dripping from their ceiling. One resident’s son, Zeng, said his 70-year-old mother noticed the leak early in the morning and tried to clean it, only to be hit by the putrid, sticky liquid. “The more I thought about it, the more I felt something was wrong, so I called the police,” he said.
Police confirmed receiving a report of an unnatural death at 1:35 PM. The father and his 47-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the father’s body was already decomposing, making identification difficult.
Neighbors painted a picture of a quiet, reclusive family. Only the father and daughter had been living there since around 2017. The father was described as always wearing shorts, a mask, and a hat, and often seen carrying food home. The daughter, reportedly struggling with mental health issues, was sometimes seen talking, laughing, or singing to herself—yet they never caused trouble.
Residents had noticed strange smells for about a month, but the situation only came to light after the leak made it impossible to ignore. Some even reported authorities had visited weeks earlier to investigate the odor.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The eerie story has left neighbors shaken and sparked questions online about what really happened inside the flat for so long without anyone noticing.
