A traffic accident in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, left nine people injured on Monday after a private car mounted a pavement and struck several pedestrians.
According to local reports from Ming Pao and HK01, the incident occurred at around noon along Lam Hing Street, outside Phase Two of the Enterprise Square complex. The vehicle, believed to have lost control, ploughed onto the pavement, crashing into a roadside tree and destroying about 10 metres of metal railing before hitting pedestrians nearby.
Police said the accident resulted in injuries to nine individuals, including seven male pedestrians, one female pedestrian, and a female passenger in the car. The middle-aged male driver of the vehicle was unhurt and is currently assisting police with investigations.
Emergency responders and police rushed to the scene following reports of the crash. Paramedics provided immediate treatment to the victims, some of whom suffered head wounds and limb injuries. All injured individuals remained conscious and were later transported to hospital for further treatment.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the cause of the incident and the circumstances surrounding the driver and the vehicle involved.
