The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has stepped up efforts to combat gangsterism in Sarawak through a large-scale, coordinated special operation involving the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) and Bukit Aman’s D7 and D9 units.
The operation is focused on dismantling organised crime networks believed to be involved in various illegal activities, including extortion, protection rackets, unlawful operations, and suspicious financial dealings.
According to sources, several individuals have been arrested to assist in investigations, while others remain at large. Those detained are currently being held for further inquiry as authorities continue to gather evidence.
The syndicate is believed to have links to organised groups operating within the region. Following intelligence gathering and continuous surveillance, multiple raids have been carried out nationwide, resulting in the arrest of approximately 30 individuals so far.
The D7 unit, which specialises in tackling secret societies and gangsterism, has reportedly been monitoring the network’s activities over an extended period through intelligence-driven operations and coordinated enforcement efforts.
However, several key suspects believed to be closely linked to the syndicate are still on the run. Police are now seeking public assistance to help track them down.
