A terrifying accident recently occurred at an amusement park in Saudi Arabia’s Mecca Province, where a pendulum-style ride catastrophically broke in half mid-air. As the ride swung passengers high into the air, the central arm suddenly snapped, causing the entire seating area—along with the riders—to come crashing violently to the ground.
The incident took place at Green Mountain Park near Taif. The ride, known for its dramatic pendulum swings combined with 360-degree seat rotations, was a popular attraction for thrill-seekers. However, things turned horrifying when the ride reached its peak height and the main support arm fractured, sending screaming passengers plummeting.
Shockingly, instead of assisting immediately, park staff reportedly fled the scene in panic, leaving injured guests trapped in their seats. It wasn’t until later that the park intervened to rescue and transport the victims to the hospital. A total of 23 people were injured in the incident, with three in serious condition. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the mechanical failure.
