Authorities are searching for a 41-year-old man, Ong Wei Hai, in connection with the discovery of a man’s body stuffed inside a bag behind Flat Ampang Jajar, Jalan Permatang Pauh, on October 9. The suspect’s last known address is Villa Tanjung, Jalan Tanjung Villa.
Seberang Perai Utara Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Anuar Abd Rahman, said Ong is wanted to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Norhaslinda Rahmat at 04-576 2222 or their nearest police station.
Earlier reports stated that police had arrested four individuals, including two women, in connection with the case. Penang Police Chief, Datuk Azizee Ismail, confirmed that the arrests were made by the Serious Crime Investigation Division (D9) in Butterworth and Kampar, Perak. The suspects, aged 24 to 42, are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The victim, Lee Boon Han, 31, an insurance agent, was reported missing on October 8 after leaving for Perlis for work and could not be contacted. His body, showing slash wounds on the neck and tied hands, was discovered by a cleaning worker during routine duties. The victim’s head had also been covered with plastic.
Lee’s 69-year-old father, a trader, had filed a police report after his son went missing, leading to the discovery of the body.
