Police Hunt Masked Burglar Following Break-In At Chini Health Clinic Quarters

Date:

Authorities in Pekan have launched a manhunt for a suspect involved in a housebreaking incident at a dental officer’s residence within the Chini Health Clinic quarters. The investigation gained momentum after closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the crime was widely shared on Facebook this past Saturday. District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin confirmed that the 42-year-old victim, a dentist by profession, officially lodged a police report regarding the intrusion on Friday.

According to preliminary statements, the victim had vacated the premises on 19 March to return to his hometown for a break. The break-in was only discovered in the early hours of Friday morning, around 12.48 am, when the home’s security alarm was triggered. The sudden noise alerted both a nearby neighbour and a security guard on duty, leading to the immediate discovery that the residential unit had been compromised.

Physical evidence found at the scene suggests that the perpetrator gained entry to the house by breaching the ceiling. Investigators noted visible damage to the ceiling structures in both the master bedroom and a third room, indicating the suspect’s point of entry and movement through the property. While the exact value of the losses sustained by the dentist is still being calculated, forensic teams have scoured the area for physical clues to build a stronger case.

The CCTV recordings recovered from the scene depict a male suspect dressed in a grey long-sleeved shirt and brown shorts. The individual was also seen wearing shoes and a mask to conceal his identity during the commission of the crime. Superintendent Mohd Zaidi stated that the case is currently being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which pertains to housebreaking by night in order to commit an offence.

The public has been urged by the police to refrain from engaging in any speculation that might hinder the ongoing legal process. Anyone possessing information regarding the masked man’s identity or the incident itself is encouraged to contact the investigating officer at 012-7400527 or the Pekan District Police Headquarters operations room at 09-4221222.
