Date:

Police have recorded the statements of 12 witnesses following the discovery of a decomposed body of a woman, believed to have been murdered, near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on September 1.

KLIA District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Azman Shari’at said the victim’s identity has yet to be determined due to the severe state of decomposition.

“So far, 12 statements have been taken, but there are still no leads, and investigations are ongoing. The woman’s identity cannot be confirmed as the body was badly decomposed, leaving no usable parts for identification,” he said on Friday.

Azman added that no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Earlier, media reported that the remains of a woman, believed to be in her 20s, were discovered near KLIA in a decomposed state.

According to Azman, police received information from a member of the public about the discovery at around 7.50 p.m.

A post-mortem carried out at the Forensic Unit of Serdang Hospital revealed four suspicious injuries on the victim’s body.
