Initial reports indicate that the suspects contacted the memorial park management via the messaging application WhatsApp using an international phone number. The perpetrators claimed to have found the missing urns and subsequently demanded a specific payment as a condition for their safe return. The management of the memorial park has publicly expressed their belief that a scam syndicate based in Cambodia may be behind the heartless extortion attempt.
The Nilai police have assured the public that they are committed to solving the case and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
