Policeman Injured After Slipping On Oil Spill On KL–Karak Expressway

Date:

A police officer sustained minor injuries after being involved in an accident while on duty at Km71.6 of the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway eastbound earlier today.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the officer, Lance Corporal Zulakmal Isa from the Maran Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, is believed to have slipped after encountering an oil spill on the road.

He said the incident occurred while the officer was on his way to carry out duties at the final stop of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to the Karak Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (Puspen).

“The officer’s condition is stable and he has been taken to Bentong Hospital for further treatment,” Yahaya told Bernama.

Medical examinations, including X-ray tests, confirmed that the officer did not suffer any serious injuries, although he sustained wounds to his hands, back and knees.

In a Facebook post, Pahang police said Yahaya took immediate action following the incident to assist the injured officer and personally accompanied him to the hospital for treatment.

Yahaya and his team later visited the officer at the hospital to check on his welfare and monitor his recovery.
