Porsche Skids Off Road After Driver Reaches For Fallen Phone In Kuala Langat

Date:

A moment of distraction proved costly for a trader when his car skidded off the road after he tried to retrieve a mobile phone that had fallen under his seat while driving along Jalan Sungai Rambai, Kuala Langat, yesterday afternoon.

Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the incident occurred at about 3.20pm and involved a Porsche Panamera driven by a local man in his 40s.

“Initial investigations found that the driver was travelling from Shah Alam to Jenjarom. Upon reaching the location, he was using his mobile phone to access Google Maps when the device slipped and fell under the seat,” he said when contacted today.

Mohd Akmalrizal added that while attempting to pick up the phone, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which veered to the left, skidded off the road, crossed a drain and came to a stop on an embankment.

The driver escaped uninjured and was found to be in possession of a valid driving licence.

Members of the public with information on the incident are urged to contact Inspector Mazrol Mohd Din at 03-3187 2222 or 011-1853 9115, or report to the nearest police station.
