Police have arrested a 44-year-old man believed to be involved in a viral road-rage incident in which a motorcyclist allegedly threw a stone at a car, smashing its rear windscreen along the Second Link Expressway.
The suspect, a Malaysian technician working in Singapore, was detained at 7.50pm in Taman Bukit Kempas. District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the man had no previous criminal record and tested negative for drugs. His motorcycle was also seized.
Police obtained a four-day remand order, ending on Dec 6, to assist investigations for mischief and reckless, dangerous riding.
The incident came to light after a 24-second video spread on social media showing a man claiming the rider had hurled a stone that shattered his car’s rear windscreen. The victim later lodged a police report, stating that the confrontation began after he honked at the motorcyclist for abruptly switching lanes.
