Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor struck an optimistic note as she arrived at court, amid anticipation over whether Datuk Seri Najib Razak will be allowed to serve the remainder of his six-year prison sentence under house arrest.
As she entered the courtroom, where High Court Judge Datuk Alice Loke was delivering her decision, Rosmah was heard asking reporters whether her husband would be released from prison today.
“Will he be allowed out? Is Datuk (Seri Najib) leaving today?” she asked, adding light-heartedly, “Whoever nods, I love you.”
She later repeated, “Who agrees with me, I love you,” before saying, “InsyaAllah.”
Several supporters were also present at court earlier, including Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, Datuk Seri Mohamad Nizar Najib, and Tan Sri Nazir Razak.
Najib, who is currently serving a jail sentence following his conviction in the SRC International case, filed a judicial review in April last year seeking to enforce a purported royal addendum that would allow him to complete his sentence at home.
If the court rules in Najib’s favour, he could be released from prison immediately to serve the remainder of his sentence at his residence in Jalan Langgak Duta.
