A 55-year-old e-hailing driver from Sarawak struck it rich last month after winning RM19 million from the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 — all thanks to his unwavering belief in his vehicle registration numbers.
The winning combination, 6570 and 7068, were the plate numbers of his motorcycle and his very first car. He said he had always used the number from his old car out of sentiment, despite never winning before.
On the night of July 19, after completing his last drive for the day, he sat in his car and checked his tickets.
“I had just gotten home on a Saturday night. When I saw the first number match the second prize, my heart started racing. Then I saw the other number matched the first prize — that’s when I knew I had won the jackpot. I couldn’t help but scream out loud,” he recalled.
Despite the life-changing windfall, the man says he has no intention of quitting his job as an e-hailing driver just yet. He plans to use part of the winnings to support his wife and children, while also setting some aside for future investments.
