Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, mother of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, passed away today at the age of 83, Dr Sim announced on his Facebook page.
In his post, Dr Sim expressed deep sorrow, saying, “We are in deep grief over the passing of our beloved mother, Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, at the family home this evening, surrounded by her loved ones. I lost a mother who had given me unconditional love for my whole life. Frugal on herself but always generous with motherly love to relatives, friends, communities, and NGO charities close to her heart.”
Lim, the wife of the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong, was the first vice president of Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-Isteri (Sabati) and held various positions in the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) and other NGOs. She was also a doctor. Dr Sim highlighted her devotion as a grandmother, saying she “showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, dedicating much time to Enson and Simson’s upbringing and schooling, instilling family values and love for Sarawak.”
A wake will be held at the family home at 100 Jalan Wan Abdul Rahman, Kenyalang Park, 93300 Kuching, with funeral arrangements to be announced soon.
