The largest model car gathering in Sarawak, the 1:64 Diecast Festival, wrapped up this weekend at The Hills Mall in Kuching, drawing collectors, customizers, and miniature car enthusiasts from all corners of the region. Over two action-packed days, the event turned into a vibrant playground for diecast fans, showcasing not only exquisite model displays but also customization competitions, hands-on workshops, and limited-edition model sales.
Crowds flowed through the festival, immersing themselves in the interactive exhibits and sharing techniques, ideas, and inspirations with fellow hobbyists. The competition was fierce, with a panel of expert judges carefully evaluating each entry. In the end, all eyes were on Sarawak’s very own SRWK team, whose innovative designs and meticulous craftsmanship earned them the top three prizes namely, Champion for Elite Category, 2nd Runner Up for Diorama Competition, and 3rd Runner Up for Class Category.
SRWK wowed audiences with their “Miniature Real-World Scenes” theme, blending cutting-edge 3D printing with traditional hand-finishing techniques. Their 1:1 scale recreations of real-life streetscapes stunned spectators with incredible detail and lifelike realism. From the moment their models debuted, they became the festival’s centerpiece, drawing crowds eager to admire and photograph every tiny element.
The festival proved once again that Sarawak’s diecast community is not only passionate but also pushing the boundaries of creativity and technical skill in the miniature world.
