Second Autopsy of Cadet Syamsul Haris Scheduled to Begin Tomorrow

Date:

The second autopsy of PALAPES Reserve Officer Training Unit (PALAPES) cadet, the late Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, was carried out on Saturday.

Family lawyer, Datuk Naran Singh Ara Singh, stated that the cadet’s body was exhumed earlier in the morning at Kampung Rinching Hulu Islamic Cemetery before being transported to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (IPFN) at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for preliminary examination.

He added that the full autopsy is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

“The exhumation work was carried out by four grave diggers starting at 8:45 a.m., and the body was removed at 9:22 a.m. in good condition. The body was specially wrapped by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) before being sent to IPFN. The initial examination took place today, while the full autopsy will be conducted at 9 a.m. tomorrow,” he said during a press conference at the cemetery on Friday.

Datuk Naran also mentioned that the family was satisfied with the exhumation process, which was witnessed by three forensic experts from IPFN HKL as well as the family’s forensic specialist, Datuk Seri Dr. Bhupinder Singh.

Previously, the cadet’s mother, Ummu Haiman Bee Daulatgun, 45, had claimed that she noticed injuries on her son’s body, including bleeding from the eyes and nose, chest wounds, and bruising.

“How could the Minister of Defence claim that no injuries were present? Naturally, a mother would feel grief and continue seeking justice,” the lawyer remarked.

Datuk Naran also dismissed claims that his services as the family’s lawyer were expensive, clarifying that he is representing the family pro bono.

“I am doing this for free, for justice for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion,” he said.
