Selangor Allocates RM500 Aid to 750 Flood-Hit Families, Provides Support for Affected SPM Students

Date:

The Selangor government has announced an initial financial aid of RM500 each for 750 families registered across five districts impacted by recent floods.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said that as of 11.30am today, a total of 2,784 flood victims have been relocated to 21 temporary relief centres (PPS) in Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Langat, Petaling, and Klang.

Among the victims are 221 SPM candidates, with the examination commencing today. To assist them, the state government, through the District Offices, has arranged free transport from the PPS to their exam centres.

Amirudin added that Yayasan MBI Selangor will offer immediate assistance to students who lost writing tools and digital devices due to the floods to ensure their examinations are not disrupted.

He also instructed that flood mitigation projects in key areas be accelerated, with updates to be provided later today by Selangor Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee chairman Datuk Izham Hashim.

In his statement, Amirudin expressed prayers for the safety of all Selangor residents, particularly those in the PPS, and thanked all relevant agencies for their swift efforts in assisting affected communities.
