Selangor Fire Claims Life of Three-Year-Old in Banting House Blaze

A three-year-old boy was found dead after being trapped in a fire that engulfed three houses on Jalan Nuri, Kampung Seri Cheeding, Banting, Kuala Langat early this morning.

Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Deputy Director of Operations at the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), said authorities received an emergency call at 2:44am.

A team of 17 firefighters with fire engines from Teluk Panglima Garang, Banting, and KLIA fire stations were rushed to the scene.

“Initial reports indicated that a three-year-old child was trapped inside one of the houses,” Ahmad Mukhlis said in a statement.

The fire was brought under control by 3:30am. Around an hour later, at 4:15am, firefighters discovered the child’s body in the main room, badly burnt.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
