A 14-year-old male student claimed he was punched by a senior student during a football match in early September, resulting in minor scratches and bruises.
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, said a report was filed by the boy’s mother at 1:50 a.m. on September 4, stating her son was injured during the school football game.
Police opened an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code. The probe revealed that the senior student allegedly punched the victim during a match between new students and seniors.
“The victim was referred to the hospital, where it was confirmed that the injuries were minor scratches and bruises, with no lasting damage. The school has also taken internal disciplinary action against the senior student involved,” he said.
Azli added that the case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office, which decided not to pursue charges, given that the incident occurred during a school football match and appropriate action was taken by the school.
He emphasized that the investigation is complete and classified according to legal provisions, advising the public not to exploit the incident for publicity or personal gain and to follow proper legal channels for any disputes.
