Shah Alam Daycare Controversy: Three Reports Filed Over Alleged Child Mistreatment

Date:

Police have received three reports regarding allegations that a child was confined at a local daycare, an issue that has gone viral on social media in recent days.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol, said the reports were lodged between yesterday afternoon and early this morning.

“Police have received reports regarding a child being confined, as widely circulated on social media. Investigations show that the boy involved is 11 years old and is believed to have been sent to the daycare since he was five,” he said.

AC Ramsay added that a total of three reports have been filed, and statements have been recorded from an individual named Caprice.

He also confirmed that closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage related to the case has been submitted, and authorities will seize relevant evidence.

“The case is still under investigation and is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001,” he said.

The social media posts that sparked public concern showed conditions at the daycare and alleged mistreatment of the child by the caregivers.
