Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a steady and uninterrupted fuel supply across its network, in line with the government’s latest announcement on national energy security.
In a statement released today, Shell Malaysia said it is actively working to maintain consistent fuel availability at all its stations nationwide, emphasising the importance of supply continuity during this period.
The company acknowledged that there may be a temporary surge in demand, which could lead to short-term fuel shortages at certain locations. Such fluctuations, it noted, are being closely monitored to minimise disruption to consumers.
“We apologise for any inconvenience experienced by our customers. We are making every effort to restore supply at affected stations as quickly as possible,” the statement read, adding that operational measures are in place to address the situation efficiently.
The development comes as broader concerns over energy supply continue to surface, reflecting the challenges faced globally in maintaining stable fuel resources amid uncertain market conditions.
On Tuesday, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the National Economic Action Council (MTEN) is reviewing strategies to diversify fuel input sources, strengthen cooperation with key trading partners, and safeguard national supply resilience in navigating the global energy crisis.
He added that the government remains focused on reinforcing the country’s supply security to ensure long-term stability and preparedness.
