Shocked Woman Sues Married Man After 200+ Unprotected Sex, Wins MYR 47,000 Compensation

Date:

A Japanese woman successfully sued a man who deceived her about his marital status, resulting in emotional and physical harm. The woman, identified as Aida (pseudonym), discovered that the man, Kondo (pseudonym), was married with two children after dating him for over five months. During their relationship, the couple had over 200 unprotected sexual encounters, including one night where they reportedly had sex ten times, leaving her physically injured and infected with a sexually transmitted disease. The court ordered Kondo to pay Aida ¥1.5 million (around MYR 47,000).

According to reports by Shueisha, the case dates back to 2023. Aida met Kondo through a dating app meant for single people. Kondo, in his 30s, falsely claimed to be single and without a girlfriend. Their relationship lasted from May to October 2023 until Kondo’s wife discovered his affair on October 12. Kondo then abruptly cut off contact with Aida, who later hired a private investigator to uncover his marital status.

Aida stated that she had emphasized on the dating app that she would not engage with married individuals and had repeatedly confirmed Kondo’s status, but he consistently claimed he was single and actively pursued her. He reportedly traveled two hours by train to meet her, responded promptly to her messages, and spoke about a future together, including buying a house and growing old together. “If I had known from the beginning that he was married, I would never have met him,” she said.

Looking back on their relationship, Aida said she was disgusted by Kondo’s “extremely strong sexual desires.” He had promised to “take responsibility,” yet their frequent unprotected sex led to her contracting an STD. On one occasion, he allegedly demanded more than ten sexual encounters in one night, causing vaginal bleeding. Even while working remotely, Kondo reportedly sent obscene videos and engaged in sexual activity online.

Aida said the relationship caused her significant physical and emotional trauma. She initially attempted to settle the matter privately through lawyers, but Kondo offered only ¥200,000 (around MYR 6,300) and did not apologize, prompting her to take legal action. On December 8 last year, the Tokyo District Court ruled that Kondo “intentionally concealed his marital status, constituting a violation of chastity rights,” and ordered him to pay ¥1.5 million (around MYR 47,000) in compensation. Aida, however, believes the penalty was too lenient.
