Six Arrested After Indian National Found Murdered in Puchong

Police have arrested six Indian men to assist in the investigation of a murder involving an Indian national found dead on the stairs of a shop house in Pusat Bandar Puchong, Puchong, last night.

Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad, confirmed that all six are housemates of the main suspect, who has been identified and is currently being sought by authorities.

“The main suspect in this case is an Indian national, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. So far, statements from four witnesses, including the complainant, have been recorded to aid the investigation,” he said in a statement today.

Police have also reviewed CCTV footage from the scene, which may provide evidence to assist in the investigation.

The victim, a 49-year-old self-employed electrician, had lived in Malaysia for approximately 19 years and was renting a room in the shop house where the incident occurred.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or Serdang District Police Headquarters at 03-8074 2222.

The incident was initially reported last night when the Indian national, also a permanent resident, was found dead at around 8:30 pm before authorities arrived to take further action.
