A chaotic street brawl involving about six to seven people broke out along Jelutong Road in George Town, reportedly sparked by a love dispute, with police confirming that those involved have since been arrested.
The incident happened several days ago, but a video of the fight only began circulating widely on social media today. According to sources, the Northeast District Police moved quickly after the incident and detained the suspects involved in the group assault.
Footage of the incident shows around six or seven men splitting into several groups and fighting on the roadside, with nearly 10 people visible at the scene. Some of the men were seen falling to the ground while grappling and punching each other, while others continued trading blows while standing.

Two women were also seen in the video, and a man in a white shirt attempted to intervene and stop the fight, but was unsuccessful and was almost knocked down. The situation quickly descended into chaos, with another man in green later joining the brawl.
Netizens claimed that the clash was triggered by a dispute involving a Vietnamese woman, which escalated into physical violence. Towards the end of the video, uniformed police officers can be seen arriving at the scene to begin their investigation.

The fight is believed to have taken place outside a hawker centre along Jelutong Road. When contacted, Northeast District police chief ACP Abdul Rozak had yet to respond at the time of publication.
