Date:

A husband and wife found dead in Sri Aman on Wednesday died from multiple stab wounds, police confirmed.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said post-mortem examinations by the Sarawak General Hospital forensic unit revealed that the 45-year-old male victim sustained 11 stab wounds to his neck and chest, while his 44-year-old wife suffered stab wounds to the neck.

“The cause of death was recorded as neck and chest injuries due to stab wounds,” Mohamad Zainal said.

Police have recorded statements from 21 witnesses, including family members, neighbours, and colleagues, but the motive for the killings has yet to be established. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation that could hamper investigations or distress the victims’ family.

The couple, a primary school headmaster and a nurse, were found unconscious at their home in Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman, at around 6.55am. Their bodies were returned to Sri Aman following post-mortem for burial.
