Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah has confirmed that investigations into the double homicide in Sri Aman indicate that only the victims’ DNA was found at the crime scene and on the weapon, with no traces of any other individuals.
“Since there were no signs of forced entry or burglary at the residence, the police confirm that this case involves only the two victims. The case is now considered resolved,” he said.
Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah made the remarks this morning after presiding over the monthly assembly at the Sarawak Police Headquarters and responding to media questions.
To date, the police have recorded statements from 30 witnesses, including the victims’ family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.
He also revealed that the male victim suffered from depression. Police believe that aside from awaiting analysis of the couple’s mobile phones, no further investigation is necessary.
The double homicide occurred in the early hours of January 14 at a semi-detached house in Pearl Garden, Sri Aman. Autopsy reports showed that the male victim, Adilroy, sustained 11 stab wounds to his neck and chest, with the cause of death listed as “stab wounds to the neck and chest.” His wife died from “stab wounds to the neck.”
