An 18-year-old teenager and a 41-year-old Chinese man tragically died in an accident on KM 146 of the Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan Road near the Teluk Kalong Industrial Area traffic lights on Thursday evening.

Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli, said the crash occurred around 9:10 pm when Muhammad Darwisy Irsyad Muhammad Fitri, riding a Yamaha 125ZR, collided with Zhang Jian Cheng, a steel factory technician, who allegedly stepped suddenly from the roadside into the middle of the road.

The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and skid to the left, resulting in fatal injuries for both him and Zhang. Another passenger, a 17-year-old friend, sustained injuries to his legs and hands and is receiving treatment at Kemaman Hospital.

The bodies of both deceased were taken to the hospital’s forensic unit for further action. Police are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
