A father has lodged a police report after claiming his seven-year-old son was injured following an alleged assault by a female tuition teacher.
The incident reportedly took place on 7 April, when the child sustained a head injury after being struck with a mobile phone, according to the father. The boy was later taken to Saraburi Hospital in Thailand for medical treatment.
Medical checks found that the injury was minor, did not require stitches, and was not considered serious.
The child’s father, Pitak, 41, said his son had only been attending the tuition classes for just over a week before the incident occurred.
He alleged that the teacher became angry after the child answered three Thai language practice questions incorrectly and then hit him on the head with a mobile phone.
Pitak also claimed that the same tutor, identified as Jit and believed to be in her 50s, had previously pulled the child’s ear and struck him on the back.
He added that his son had complained about such treatment earlier, but he initially did not believe the claims at the time.
According to Pitak, the tutor later contacted him and admitted she had accidentally hit the child with her phone, causing the injury.
When questioned, she reportedly said she lost her temper due to the hot weather.
The tutor also allegedly offered compensation of 500 baht (approximately RM61) and told the father he was free to file a police report if he was dissatisfied.
However, Pitak rejected the offer and proceeded to file a report at the Mueang Saraburi Police Station.
He said the decision was made to ensure the matter is properly investigated under the law and to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
