Teen Dress Up As Prisoner During Halloween And Got Arrested By Police

Date:

A Halloween costume turned all too real for 18-year-old Jimmie Glover, who was arrested for suspected drunk driving after attending a party over the Halloween weekend while dressed in a bright orange “Locked Up” prisoner outfit.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the incident occurred early on October 31, when Glover was spotted driving through the city in his striking prisoner costume—orange pants and a white top—resembling a real inmate. Officers immediately pulled him over and conducted field sobriety tests and a preliminary breathalyzer.

Bodycam footage released by the police shows Glover initially walking steadily during a straight-line test, but he visibly lost balance during a turn, raising suspicion of impaired driving. He was subsequently taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test. Glover posted RM230 (approximately US$1,500) bail and was released about 10 hours later.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department later shared a lighthearted post on social media: “He wore a ‘Locked Up’ Halloween costume and ended up actually getting arrested.” The department also urged the public to celebrate responsibly, saying, “We want to admire your costumes, not respond to DUI calls. Celebrate safely and get home safely.”

Police added that while Halloween is a time for creativity and fun, safety comes first. “If you’re dressed as a cop tonight, want to join our night shift? Starting at 10 p.m.—just kidding. Happy Halloween!”
