A teenage boy narrowly avoided danger when he spotted a King Cobra crossing the road in front of him last night.
The 16-year-old rider, traveling on his motorcycle around 7:30 p.m., quickly braked and jumped off his bike to escape safely in the yard of his home in Kampung Banggol Sik Dalam. In a surprising twist, the four-meter-long cobra became lodged on the motorcycle’s brake, remaining stuck there.
Fortunately, the teen was unharmed, and firefighters arrived at the scene shortly afterward.
Sik Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Assistant Fire Officer Mohd Jamil Mat Daud, said the team received a call about the incident at 7:40 p.m. Leading a crew of five, Senior Fire Officer Soffuan Sabri arrived quickly on site.
“The King Cobra, measuring about four meters, was successfully captured using a restraining tool. The operation concluded at 7:54 p.m.,” he confirmed.
