JPJ Cracks Down on Illegal Parking Near Kuching Airport and Hospital

Date:

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has taken firm action following numerous public complaints about traffic congestion and reckless parking near Kuching International Airport (KIA) and Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). On Tuesday, JPJ’s Kuching Motorcycle Enforcement Unit (UPB), also known as the Falcon Team, carried out an enforcement operation targeting high-traffic areas where drivers were found violating traffic rules.

A total of 57 notices of non-compliance were issued to motorists who had parked illegally along yellow lines and in restricted zones, contributing to traffic disruptions and causing inconvenience to other road users—particularly around these essential public facilities.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, JPJ Sarawak stressed that it would not tolerate traffic offenders who compromise road safety and public convenience. The department also reminded drivers to park only in designated areas and to be mindful and courteous to ensure smoother traffic flow around critical locations like hospitals and airports.
