Thirteen-Year-Old Boy Injured After Being Slapped At Pasar Seni LRT Station Premise

Date:

A 13-year-old boy sustained nasal injuries on Tuesday after he was allegedly slapped by an adult male at a business outlet located within the Pasar Seni LRT Station. The distressing encounter, which took place at approximately 1.30 pm, resulted in the young victim bleeding from his nose. According to Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, the teenager was alone inside the shop during the incident while his aunt waited nearby in her vehicle.

Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the suspect, a man estimated to be in his 40s, struck the boy across the face. The unprovoked physical assault was reportedly triggered by a misunderstanding regarding queueing etiquette. The suspect had allegedly accused the minor of cutting the line, despite evidence suggesting that the boy was actually the first customer at the counter and there were no other patrons waiting behind him at that specific moment.

Following the attack, the victim sought immediate medical attention at Kuala Lumpur Hospital to address his injuries. Medical professionals at the facility later confirmed that the teenager suffered a soft tissue injury, specifically a nasal lesion, as a direct result of the blow. The physical pain and trauma of the event have sparked concern regarding the safety of commuters and shoppers within the busy transit hub.

The authorities have officially opened an investigation into the matter under two separate legal provisions. The case is being scrutinized under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam released a statement earlier tonight confirming that the police are taking the report seriously and are working to identify the individual responsible for the harm caused to the minor.

Efforts are currently underway to track down the middle-aged suspect to facilitate further legal proceedings and assist in the ongoing investigation. Members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have information regarding the identity of the assailant are encouraged to come forward. The police remain committed to ensuring that justice is served for the young victim of this public assault.
