Three men wanted by police for robbery were shot dead after attacking officers during an operation at an oil palm estate early this morning.
State police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the suspects, known as ‘Geng DT’, were armed with parang and had slashed a police corporal attempting an arrest. The officer sustained a critical injury to his left hand.
“Police had no choice but to open fire on the suspects. All three suspects died at the scene,” he said at a press conference at the state police headquarters.
The trio, aged 24 and 29, were believed to be involved in 20 burglary cases targeting houses, factories, and restaurants since 2024, reportedly amassing around RM1.3 million from their crime spree.
“Their modus operandi involved moving on foot to evade police detection,” Dzulkhairi added.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
