Tragedy at Sungai Pertak: 20-Year-Old Drowns During Swim With Friends

A 20-year-old man tragically drowned while swimming with friends at the Sungai Pertak waterfall in Kampung Pertak earlier this morning.

According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, an emergency call was received at 10:27am.

Twelve rescue personnel, along with fire engines from the Kuala Kubu Bharu and Bukit Sentosa stations, were dispatched to the scene.

“The victim was discovered unconscious at a depth of five metres at 11:19am,” Ahmad Mukhlis said.

The body was subsequently handed over to Health Ministry officials for further action.
