Tragedy in Kedah: Bank Exec Stabbed to Death, Police Seek Missing Eldest Son

Date:

The motive behind the murder of a bank operations executive, who was found dead with three stab wounds at a home in Taman Sultan Abdul Halim, Jalan Tanjung Bendahara, is still under police investigation.

Kedah Police Chief, Datuk Adzli Abu Shah, stated that the 52-year-old victim was discovered unconscious in his bedroom and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is believed to have occurred between 5 and 8 a.m. and was only discovered by the victim’s children after they woke up,” he said.

Initial examinations revealed three stab wounds on the chest and hand, suspected to have been caused by a sharp weapon, possibly scissors or a knife.

At the time, the victim was at home with three of his children, aged between 10 and 18. Another child, aged 29, who lived separately, reportedly arrived at the house around the time of the incident and knocked on the door.

“When the door was opened by one of his siblings, they went back to sleep. However, when they woke up later, the victim was found lifeless while the eldest child was missing,” Adzli explained.

Meanwhile, Kota Setar District Police Chief, Asisten Komisioner Syed Basri Syed Ali, added that further examination of the body revealed additional stab and blunt force injuries.

“Forensic teams and the K9 unit are assisting in the investigation. The stab wounds were located on the abdomen, upper left chest, and wrist. The victim also suffered injuries to the head and face, bruising on the left shoulder and forehead, as well as cuts on the left palm,” he said.

The police also reported that the victim’s handbag, containing jewelry, cash, and a mobile phone, was missing.

The murder is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and authorities are actively searching for the suspect. Police have called on Amirul Shafiq Shamsul Zahari, the 29-year-old eldest son of the victim, to come forward to assist in the investigation.
