A heartbreaking tragedy struck Mumbai when a 4-year-old girl fell to her death from the 12th floor of an apartment building while waiting to go out and play.
According to CCTV footage, the incident occurred as the child and her mother stepped out of their apartment. While the mother was busy locking the door, the little girl began wandering around and playing near the entrance. After trying on adult shoes, the mother picked her up and placed her on a nearby shoe cabinet by the window to keep her still.
However, while the mother turned to look for the child’s shoes, the girl climbed from the cabinet onto the window ledge. Tragically, she lost her balance while attempting to sit on the window frame and fell backward, plunging from the 12th floor.
Horrified, the mother immediately screamed for help. Neighbors rushed out to assist upon hearing her cries. The child was urgently taken to Sir DM Petit Hospital in Vasai West, but despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead.
The incident took place around 8 p.m. on July 23 in the Naigaon area of Mumbai. Authorities have launched an investigation into the case.
