Tragic End For Missing Elderly E-Hailing Driver Found Deceased In Tabuan Jaya Commercial Area

Date:

A search for a missing elderly man ended in tragedy this afternoon when he was discovered lifeless in his vehicle by a member of the public. The deceased, who worked as an e-hailing driver, had been the subject of an intense search by his family since yesterday afternoon. Reports indicate that a passer-by spotted his brown Proton parked near a commercial area in Tabuan Jaya around 1:00 PM today before alerting the authorities and his next of kin.

The elderly man was last seen leaving his residence at Mile 12 at approximately 3:00 PM yesterday. Concern grew among his family members when he failed to return home several hours later, and multiple attempts to reach him via his mobile phone went unanswered. This prompted a frantic search across various locations, including the TT3 area, as the family feared for his safety given his sudden disappearance while on duty.

Before his body was discovered, the family had extended their search to the Sarawak General Hospital to check if any elderly patients matching his description had been admitted. Desperate for leads, they officially lodged a missing person’s report with the police and turned to social media for assistance. A post circulated on Facebook provided details of his vehicle and profession, urging netizens to keep a lookout for the brown Proton he was operating.

The situation took a somber turn when a helpful citizen noticed the vehicle parked near the Tabuan Jaya commercial shops. Upon closer inspection, the individual found the elderly man unresponsive inside the car and immediately contacted the man’s son to provide the exact location. Emergency services were subsequently notified, and an ambulance was dispatched from the Sarawak Heart Centre to provide medical assistance at the scene.

Medical personnel who arrived at the location conducted a thorough examination but unfortunately confirmed that the man had already passed away. The discovery has left the family devastated after their exhaustive efforts to locate him safely over the past 24 hours. Following the verification of his death, the case has been brought to the attention of the relevant authorities for further investigation into the cause of his passing.
