A 26-year-old trainee doctor, Ahmad Hilmi Zulkeflee, pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to charges of outraging a woman’s modesty and possessing obscene material.
Ahmad Hilmi is accused of secretly recording a woman while she was bathing at Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra on September 13, 2025. He faces a second charge of possessing obscene images and videos on his phone at the Medical Officer Trainee Hostel the following day.
The charge of outraging modesty carries a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment and a fine, while possession of obscene material is punishable by up to three years in jail and a fine.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mazlinda Mohd Nor proposed bail of RM5,000 for each charge. The defence requested a lower bail, citing the accused’s youth and status as a first-time offender.
Magistrate Amal Razin Alias set the total bail at RM6,000 for both charges with one surety and barred the accused from harassing the victim.
The case is scheduled for mention on March 17.
