Two Brothers Wanted After Viral TikTok Livestream Theft In Ipoh

Date:

Police are seeking public assistance to track down two brothers known as “Paeh” and “Aboy” to assist in investigations into the robbery of a budget rice stall at Lebuh Meru Raya last Thursday.

The suspects were identified as 36-year-old Mohd Faiz Naharoddin and his younger brother, 25-year-old Mohamad Arif, whose last known address was in Halaman Meru Damai here.

Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said both men are local citizens with tan complexion, slim build and heights estimated between 175cm and 180cm.

“These two men are being traced to assist investigations under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Members of the public with information are urged to contact investigating officer Sergeant Azrul at 017-5823467 or visit the nearest police station.

In the incident, which occurred at about 12pm, the two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and allegedly posed as customers before fleeing with a cash box containing RM300 and an iPhone 13 belonging to the stall owner, 21-year-old Nor Atheerah Nadzirah Mior Ikram Shah.

The case gained widespread attention after a one-minute 25-second video recorded during the victim’s TikTok livestream went viral on social media.

It is understood that the stolen mobile phone was later recovered after it was allegedly discarded by the suspects near a residential area in Meru Raya, Ipoh, on the same day.
