Two Daughters Of Main Suspect Arrested In Indah Permai Dismemberment Case

Date:

Police have arrested two additional individuals linked to the gruesome dismemberment case in Indah Permai, Menggatal, bringing the total number of detainees to four.

The latest arrests involve two local women, aged 29 and 21, who are the daughters of the 71-year-old main suspect. They were apprehended in separate operations in Sepanggar and Inanam.

Acting Kota Kinabalu district police chief Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said the pair were detained to assist investigators in determining their possible involvement and knowledge of the incident.

Earlier Arrests And Seizures

The primary suspect, a 71-year-old local man, was first detained on Feb 12 at the Emergency Unit of Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. On the same day, police also arrested a 19-year-old local man in Sepanggar to aid the investigation.

Superintendent Syed Lot said officers from the Kota Kinabalu District Police Criminal Investigation Division acted swiftly, leading to the seizure of several items believed to be connected to the case.

Among the items confiscated were mobile phones, articles of clothing, a pair of gloves, a 27-inch parang and a Nissan X-Trail vehicle. Authorities are conducting forensic examinations to determine their relevance to the investigation.

Motive Believed To Be Jealousy

Preliminary findings indicate the fatal incident may have stemmed from jealousy, which allegedly escalated into a dispute between the suspect and the victim shortly before the killing.

Body parts of a woman believed to be in her 40s were discovered at multiple dumping locations on Thursday, shocking the local community and prompting an intensive police probe. Investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.
