Two Friends Killed in Head-On Collision with Livestock Tanker

Date:

Mohd Salleh Lamisza, 63, and his friend Rosli Mohamed, 60, were killed after their car collided with a livestock feed tanker at Batu 5½, Jalan Yong Peng–Ayer Hitam, this morning. The accident occurred around 8:15 am.

The victims, both from Yong Peng, were reportedly heading to Ayer Hitam when their vehicle hit a tanker coming from the opposite direction that suddenly turned left.

Salleh’s son, Muhammad Naqim, 25, said he received the heartbreaking news just minutes after his father left for the fishing trip. “A friend called to tell me about the accident. I tried contacting my dad, but someone else answered and said he was gone. I was speechless,” he said at the Forensic Unit of Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI).

Fire and Rescue Commander Khirdir Kamaludin confirmed that six crew members were dispatched after receiving the call at 8:43 am. Both car occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while the 46-year-old tanker driver was unharmed.

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Asst. Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, confirmed the case is under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
