Police have arrested two Pakistani men suspected of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl with disabilities at a bus stop in Taman Tuanku Jaafar last week.
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, said the suspects, aged in their 20s and 30s, were detained on Thursday following reports of the incident.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that both suspects knew the victim through the TikTok app. One of them admitted to committing the sexual assault on 24 August,” he told Sinar Harian on Friday.
The two suspects are now remanded for six days, from 29 August to 3 September 2025, to assist investigations under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Mohamad Hatta advised the public to ensure children are always under the supervision of trusted guardians and to monitor their activities, especially on social media. He also urged people to immediately report to the police if they see children alone or at risk, and not to share any recordings of the incident online to protect the victim’s identity.
He called on the community to work together to safeguard vulnerable groups such as children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.
