Two Women Injured After Car Crashes Into Tree In Early Morning Sibu Accident

Two women were injured after the car they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a tree in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Tuanku Osman early this morning.

The incident, which occurred at about 2.22am, is believed to have happened when the vehicle lost control, veered off the road shoulder and collided with a tree.

A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre said firefighters from the Sibu Sentral Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched immediately after receiving an emergency call at 2.22am.

Fire crews arrived at the scene at 2.24am and found two adult female victims injured in the crash.

The incident commander and firefighters then worked to extricate the victims from the vehicle and provided initial treatment at the scene.

Both victims, aged 21 and 22, were later handed over to Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance personnel before being sent to Sibu Hospital for further treatment.

The operation, involving six firefighters and a Fire and Rescue Tender (FRT) unit along with an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, concluded at 3.15am after the situation was confirmed to be safe and under control.
