A two-year-old boy endured a frightening moment after his leg became stuck inside a drain pipe in the bathroom of a condominium in Bandar Sri Damansara today.
According to a statement from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station, firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 12.13pm.
“The fire engine arrived at 12.23pm, about nine kilometres from the station. Upon assessment, it was found that the victim’s leg was trapped inside a bathroom drainage pipe,” the statement said.
Rescue personnel used specialised equipment to cut the pipe and successfully freed the child.
The operation, led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Fahizal Othman, involved five firefighters and one fire engine.
After being rescued, the child was handed over to the Ministry of Health (KKM) for further treatment.
The operation concluded at 2.57pm, with the team returning to their station thereafter.
