Two people were killed and four others injured in a three-vehicle crash at Kilometer 45.6 of the Senai–Desaru Highway early this morning.
Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Nazarudin Yusof said the department received an emergency call at 5.37am, after which a fire engine and eight personnel were dispatched to the scene.
He said the accident involved three vehicles: a Proton Saga, a Proton Wira and a Perodua Myvi.
“Two male victims, aged 19 and 21, who were trapped in the Proton Saga and Proton Wira respectively, were confirmed dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health (MOH),” he said in a statement today.
Firefighters carried out rescue operations to extricate the two trapped victims using special road traffic accident (RTA) equipment before all victims were handed over to the police and MOH for further action.
Nazarudin added that a 14-year-old girl was found unconscious, while four other adults sustained injuries in the incident.
The operation concluded at about 7.30am, and authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
