A 57-year-old general practitioner in the UK, Nicholas Chapman, has been permanently removed from the medical register after repeatedly putting his own semen into a female colleague’s coffee without her knowledge.
The victim, referred to as Ms B, became suspicious when the coffee he made for her tasted unusually “salty” and left a “thick, gloopy residue” in the sink. She later submitted a coffee sample to the police, which tested positive for Chapman’s semen. Police also discovered a large number of specimen jars in his office.

Chapman was previously sentenced in 2023 by Gloucester Crown Court to a one-year community order for forcing the victim to ingest his semen without her consent. He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, issued a 10-year restraining order preventing contact with the victim, and placed under a five-year notification requirement for sex offenders.
A Medical Practitioners Tribunal held between June and July 2025 also heard that between 2016 and 2021, Chapman sexually harassed another colleague, Ms A. His misconduct included showing her pornographic images, sending nude photos, making inappropriate remarks about dating apps, kissing her in 2020, and touching her buttocks in 2021.
The tribunal found no evidence of remorse, reflection, or any attempt at rehabilitation from Chapman. His actions were deemed a serious breach of medical ethics and a threat to public safety.
Tribunal Chair Jonathan Storey stated: “Erasure from the medical register is the only sanction that appropriately reflects the seriousness of Dr Chapman’s misconduct and conviction.” He added that it sends a strong message that such behavior is utterly unacceptable.
In her victim impact statement, Ms B expressed her deep sense of betrayal and violation: “This was a cowardly and perverse act. I had to be honest with my partner and family, but the emotional trauma will always stay with me.”
During the trial, Chapman bizarrely claimed he suffered from a rare condition that caused him to involuntarily ejaculate while defecating, and said he was collecting the samples for medical testing. The court rejected this explanation as absurd and contradictory, concluding that he regularly masturbated at work and acted out of a high sex drive.
Once considered a respected doctor who graduated from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Chapman has now been permanently removed from the medical profession.
