A viral dashcam video has angered Malaysians after showing a vehicle driving against traffic and refusing to give way to a car travelling on the correct side of the road.

The incident, shared by Guang Ming Daily on Facebook, shows the dashcam owner turning into the right lane of a two-lane one-way road before coming face-to-face with a car heading the wrong way. Instead of reversing, the offending driver continued moving forward, forcing a standoff between the two vehicles.
In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, the dashcam owner reversed, which appeared to embolden the wrong-way driver to keep advancing. At one point, a motorcyclist was seen scolding the traffic offender from the roadside.

Eventually, the offending vehicle reversed slightly, allowing the dashcam owner to use the left lane to pass. However, the situation worsened when it was revealed that another car was also driving against traffic directly behind the first offender.

The video sparked widespread criticism online, with many Malaysians questioning why the driver who had the right of way chose to give in.
“I wouldn’t reverse. I’d stop completely and call the traffic police,” one commenter wrote.
Others echoed similar sentiments, saying drivers who break traffic rules should be forced to take responsibility instead of being accommodated.
