Viral CCTV footage has emerged online showing a woman allegedly assaulted by her husband in the early hours of Sunday. Reports indicate that the victim was pregnant with twins at the time of the attack.
The incident, said to have taken place in Duyung, Melaka, shows the suspect first putting a helmet on the woman before punching her in the face. He is then seen lifting and repeatedly slamming her body onto the floor.
The assault escalates as the man drives his knee into her face and sits on top of her. Later footage shows him dragging and punching her, before striking her head with a scooter.
According to information shared alongside the viral video, the attack was reportedly motivated by jealousy. The man allegedly suspected his wife of having an affair with a male colleague.
Four days prior to the incident, the couple had a dispute, and the woman’s family had filed a police report. However, the man was released on bail. Sources claim that although the couple had reportedly divorced via talak one, the man still considered the woman his wife.
Authorities have since arrested the suspect following the viral circulation of the footage.
